The NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF) is a voluntary framework developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to help organizations manage and mitigate cybersecurity risks in a structured and effective manner. Since its inception, the framework has provided a common language for organizations to assess their cybersecurity posture, align security initiatives with business objectives, and comply with regulatory requirements.

NIST first introduced the framework in 2014, with subsequent updates to reflect evolving cyber threats and organizational needs. In 2018, version 1.1 was released to address feedback from users and expand its applicability. The most recent update, NIST CSF 2.0, was published in 2024, incorporating significant improvements to enhance its utility across various sectors and align with the latest cybersecurity best practices.

After taking this curse, you will understand the critical differences between the NIST CSF version 1.1 and version 2.0
